IRD issues tax returns, friendly reminder to file them on time

The Inland Revenue Department said it has begun issuing tax returns to taxpayers and reminded them to file theirs within a month.

In a statement, the department said it issued about 230,000 profits tax returns, 120,000 property tax returns and 330,000 employer's returns for the 2024-25 year of assessment. It will issue about 2.66 million tax returns for individuals on May 2.

IRD reminded taxpayers and employers that they are generally required to file their returns within one month from the date of issuance.

For appointed tax representatives, the filing deadlines are set out in the Block Extension Letter posted on the department's website.

IRD also encouraged taxpayers to file returns through eTAX, using the one-stop digital platform "iAM Smart" to log in and sign their returns.
