Action man Chris Tang in fiery scenes

After talking about firefighting work in several clips on Facebook, security boss Chris Tang Ping-keung yesterday presented a video covering a simulated plane crash and a fire that's taken hold in an engine, in the passenger compartment and among luggage.

Dressed as a firefighter, former police commissioner Tang leads viewers from outside the aircraft and into the passenger cabin. Besides the pointers in the video for trainees at the Fire and Ambulance Services Academy, Tang also told the new intake they must learn how to learn to handle casualties to improve the abilities of rescue units.

Tang then went to work with a firefighting robot, which packs a water output capacity of 3,000 liters per minute and a range of up to 60 meters.

The robot has a thermal imager and a high-definition lens to send images of a fire scene to a control unit operating at a safe distance.
