A dedicated enquiry hotline and a cross-departmental "engagement team" were launched on Monday to help Wang Fuk Court homeowners navigate their long-term housing arrangements.
Coordinated by the Housing Bureau (HB), the team comprises over 100 members under the HB, the Labour and Welfare Bureau, the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau, the Security Bureau, and the Development Bureau.
All team members have received special training provided by the HB before they contact owners through referrals under the "one social worker per household" service.
During their home visits this week, team members will wear light blue vests and carry identification cards.
According to the government, the hotline at 2129 8133 will mainly handle general enquiries about the resettlement arrangements, while homeowners may contact the engagement team members via the "one social worker per household" service.
Homeowners are strongly cautioned not to disclose personal information to strangers who have not been referred through the official service.
In a social media post this morning, Secretary for Housing Winnie Ho Wing-yin emphasized that the team's mission is clarification instead of persuasion. She noted that many team members proactively volunteered, motivated by a genuine desire to assist affected residents.
"We want residents to have full information, to make the right decision for their families," she wrote.
The announced long-term housing arrangements include: a cash buyout, "flat-for-flat" exchange, and the reservations of flats under the Home Ownership Scheme (HOS), the Green Form Subsidised Home Ownership Scheme (GSH), and Housing Society projects for priority purchase by owners who have sold their flats.
Notably, the options include new HOS flats being constructed at Chung Nga Road West in Tai Po.
Owners are required to confirm their intentions by August 31, giving them approximately a six-month window to decide.
