The Law Society of Hong Kong signed two separate Memoranda of Understanding (“MOUs”) with the Ho Chi Minh City Bar Association (HCBA) and the Asociación Nacional de Abogados de Empresa (ANADE) of Mexico on Monday.
According to The Law Society’s Facebook page, the signings took place ahead of the Presidents’ Roundtable, an event of the opening of the Legal Year 2026 that gathered legal leaders from around the world.
The MOUs were signed by the Law Society’s president, Roden Tong Man-lung, with Nguyen Van Hau, vice president of the HCBA, and Jose Angel Santiago Abrego, president of the ANADE, respectively.
These MOUs build on the Law Society’s continuous efforts to strengthen our global connections and exchanges through duty visits.
The MOU with the HKCA stems from the Law Society’s participation in the Secretary for Justice–led delegation to Vietnam and Malaysia in September 2024, during which both sides held discussions exploring opportunities for cooperation, including the signing of an MOU.
Meanwhile, the MOU with ANADE was discussed during the Law Society's duty visit to Mexico for the 69th UIA Annual Congress.
To date, the Law Society has signed 53 MOUs with 50 lawyers’ associations and legal organisations from 33 jurisdictions, establishing a broad and robust international legal network.
It also expressed hope to deepen collaboration with legal communities worldwide and to foster a dynamic, interconnected global legal ecosystem.
