58-year-old man dies after being dumped on Yau Ma Tei street, police probe

A 58-year-old man was found unconscious on a street in Yau Ma Tei early Thursday (Jan 15) and later died in hospital, prompting a police investigation into the suspected improper handling of a body.

Police said they received a report at around 1am that a man had collapsed outside an old tenement building on Shanghai Street. Paramedics took him to Kwong Wah Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Initial inquiries indicate he was moved from a third-floor flat in a nearby building to the spot where he was found.

Police are investigating the case as a suspected illegal disposal or improper handling of a body, and arrests have not been ruled out.
