Chemistry expert Kenneth Kwong Si-san, also known as K Kwong, was handed a 12-month probation order after taking upskirt photos of a 28-year-old woman at Tai Wai station last February.
The retired 66-year-old earlier pleaded guilty to the charge of unlawful recording or observation of intimate parts in November.
Kwong appeared before the Sha Tin Magistrates’ Courts on Monday, where Acting Principal Magistrate Cheang Kei-hong granted the probation order after considering him as a first-time offender.
The defense earlier cited the probation report and community service orders suitability report that deemed Kwong unsuitable for community services and suggested imposing a probation order instead.
The case heard that on February 14 last year, the woman was on an escalator at Tai Wai station. Kwong, standing after her, used his phone to capture upskirt images.
A 57-year-old man intervened after noticing Kwong’s behavior. Kwong appeared nervous and attempted to leave, but the passerby stopped him and called the police.
Police officers later inspected his phone and found a 10-second upskirting video.
