John Lee inspects Tai Po fire scene

Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu on Thursday afternoon inspected the platform area of a nearby building at Wang Fuk Court, accompanied by Chief Secretary for Administration Eric Chan Kwok-ki, Deputy Financial Secretary Michael Wong Wai-lun, Secretary for Security Chris Tang Ping-keung, Secretary for Labour and Welfare Chris Sun Yuk-han, and other government officials.

Fire Services Department Director Andy Yeung Yan-kin briefed Lee on the latest situation, including showing unit floor plans. Lee also spoke with some firefighters and ambulance personnel.

The fire has so far left at least 55 people dead and more than 76 injured, including a firefighter who died in the line of duty.
