Hong Kong cyclists Ceci Lee Sze-wing and Chloe Leung Wing-yee secured a gold medal in the Women's Madison at the National Games on Sunday (Nov 16).

The pair showcased their exceptional skills and endurance, finishing with an impressive total of 45 points after completing a rigorous 120 laps in the velodrome with 12 other teams.
The Madison event is a two-person tactical relay event that features a mass start, with points accumulated from sprints every 10 laps. Crucially, an extra 20 points can be earned if a team laps the field.
Lee and Leung excelled in the challenging discipline, successfully scoring in nine out of 12 sprint runs.
Their victory marks the sixth gold medal for the Hong Kong team at the 15th National Games, with teams from Sichuan and Beijing taking home the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
In recognition of their outstanding achievement, Lee and Leung will receive HK$1.5 million as part of the Jockey Club Athlete Incentive Awards Scheme, which aims to reward local athletes for their excellence in major sporting competitions.
