Sibling brawl over cleaning in Sau Mau Ping leaves teenage brother and sister hospitalized, both arrested

A teenage brother and sister were hospitalized and arrested after a violent fight over household cleaning in Sau Mau Ping on Monday evening.

Police received a report from family members at 7:23pm stating that the siblings had been fighting in their unit at Tat Hin House of Po Tat Estate. Officers arrived to find the 15-year-old boy had attacked his 18-year-old sister with his hands and a fan, while she retaliated with a approximately 15-centimeter-long kitchen knife.

The dispute reportedly began over cleaning issues in their home. The brother sustained neck injuries while the sister suffered abrasions to both hands. Both remained conscious while being transported to Queen Elizabeth Hospital and United Christian Hospital respectively.

The brother was arrested for assault occasioning actual bodily harm, while the sister was arrested for wounding. Both remain in custody as the Sau Mau Ping district crime squad continues investigating.
