A 66-year-old woman surnamed Lee was taken into custody in Wong Tai Sin this afternoon after authorities determined she had obstructed the hunt for her 38-year-old son, surnamed Wu, who remains on the run following a violent raid on Thursday.
The arrest followed the earlier detention of two men early this morning for allegedly arranging transport to help the fugitive escape.
The incident began around 5pm yesterday when seven customs drug investigators arrived at the Honour Building in To Kwa Wan.
Officers spotted a man in his thirties or forties leaving the target flat and escorted him back inside to conduct a search.
The suspect suddenly produced a 30-centimeter kitchen knife, slashed three officers, and locked himself in the unit before climbing out a kitchen window, dropping into a light well, and fleeing toward Lok Shan Road.
The wounded officers—a 29-year-old inspector with a 4-centimeter cut to his left knee, a 42-year-old senior officer with two 10-centimeter gashes on his right forearm, and a 36-year-old officer with 10-centimeter wounds to his right forearm, left knee, and right heel—were all rushed to hospital.
Police who later forced entry found the flat empty but recovered roughly three kilograms of heroin, 40 grams of ketamine, and 15 grams of methamphetamine, with a street value of approximately HK$1.84 million.
