The events, held in collaboration with local and regional partners, drew crowds to celebrate Hong Kong’s creative contributions through engaging exhibitions and performances.
In the morning, Law officiated the opening of the Hong Kong Comics and Culture Exhibition at Starfield Hanam, an event organized by the Hong Kong Comics and Animation Federation and supported by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency.
Running until October 9, the free exhibition features over 100 works by 19 Hong Kong comic artists spanning multiple generations, alongside contributions from two prominent Korean artists.
The display traces the evolution of Hong Kong comics from their beginnings in the early 1960s to modern works, showcasing iconic titles like Old Master Q and My Boy, as well as collaborations between comics and Hong Kong films.
Dedicated sections highlight the city’s distinctive humorous and martial arts comics, reflecting Hong Kong’s unique cultural identity.
In the afternoon, Law attended the opening of LOCAL POWER 2025 Hong Kong Fashion in Seoul, held at the trendy Seongsu-dong district and presented by the Asian New Generation Creativity Design Association, with sponsorship from the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency.
The event featured a fashion show displaying 70 outfits designed by 35 fashion designers from Hong Kong, other cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and Korea.
The show incorporated artificial intelligence technology into its stage design, complemented by performances from Hong Kong artists and K-pop musicians, creating a vibrant multimedia experience.
A free exhibition running from September 28 to October 11 showcases 35 fashion pieces by these designers, celebrating the creativity and innovation of Asia’s emerging fashion talent.
Vivian Sum, the Permanent Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, also attended both opening events, underscoring the significance of the cultural exchange. Law concluded her visit to Seoul and returned to Hong Kong on the same day, leaving behind a showcase of the city’s creative spirit that continues to captivate audiences in South Korea.
