HKUST refutes misleading claims about third medical school

Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) issued a statement on Monday addressing a misleading video circulated online by private school Beacon College. The university said the video contains false and misleading statements.

HKUST clarified that some photos in the video, taken from an earlier exchange event with the Greater Bay Area Hong Kong Women Entrepreneurs Association, were misused. The content, fabricated by the school, is factually inaccurate and falsely associates with HKUST.

The university stated it has not received government notification regarding the establishment of a third medical school in Hong Kong and remains unaware of any related decisions or details. It urged the public to disregard baseless online speculations.

HKUST reserves all rights to pursue action against unauthorized use of its name, images, or dissemination of false information, vowing to protect its reputation and the public’s right to accurate information.
