The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) and Our Hong Kong Foundation (OHKF) has organised a fun fair currently underway at Tai Kwun until August 18. The fun fair showcases students’ learning outcomes of the past year as part of the HKJC's Exploring Chinese Culture Ambassador Program.
A commendation ceremony was held today as well to honor and celebrate ambassadors who have completed the program.

The Ambassador Program, which lasts three years, is targeted towards secondary school students to help deepen their understanding and practice of traditional Chinese culture through various educational experiences. It also aims to encourage students to learn and preserve cultural heritage.
Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law Shuk-pui was present as one of the officiating guests for the ceremony. Alongside her were Lester Garson Huang, the steward of HKJC and Bernard Charnwut Chan, the chairman of OHKF, among others.
“The three-year program is expected to benefit over 75,000 students, educators, and members of the community,” said Huang at the ceremony.

Students are taught through a holistic approach that is based on the themes of Chinese aesthetics, centering around three pillars: Art of Handcraft, Art of Architecture, and Art of Costumes.
There are interactive taster sessions, which bring cultural groups into schools to deliver talks on key cultural topics to students, educators, and parents. Additionally, hands-on workshops are also offered that allow students to explore practices like tea ceremony, lion dance, Cantonese opera, and more.
Students are also taken on study tours to Chinese architectural heritage sites in Hong Kong and the mainland to experience cultural craftsmanship and deepen their cultural knowledge.
Finally, ambassadors share their learning experiences in care institutions after completing training, all of which is coordinated by community organizations.
