(Video) Deadly hit-and-run in Hung Hom as truck plows into bus stop, killing one

A fatal traffic accident occurred in Hung Hom on Tuesday morning when a truck lost control and crashed into a bus stop, leaving one dead and another injured. The driver fled the scene following the crash.

The incident took place around 6.30am on Ping Chi Street, where the truck veered onto the sidewalk and struck two pedestrians.

A woman in her 50s sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, but was later pronounced dead. Another woman in her 30s suffered minor abrasions to her arms and legs and was also hospitalized.

Online footage captured the moment the truck, traveling along Chatham Road North toward Tsim Sha Tsui, lost control while descending a slope.

It first collided with a roadside barrier before swerving across multiple lanes and slamming into the bus stop. Bystanders were seen scrambling to avoid the out-of-control vehicle.

Authorities are now searching for the driver, who fled after the crash. Investigations are ongoing.
