The police were alerted after a man entered the bank situated on Ngan Shing Street. He threatened a 25-year-old female employee with a knife and demanded money.
The frightened clerk complied, and the suspect subsequently escaped with the cash.
Paramedics who arrived at the scene found the victim suffering from neck wounds. She remained conscious and was promptly taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment.
Authorities are currently reviewing security footage to help track down the robber, who is still at large.
The investigation into the robbery is ongoing.
Sources have stated that the robber is reportedly a Chinese man who speaks Cantonese, wearing a white T-shirt, black pants and white shoes, with a face mask and baseball cap.
At around 4pm, the suspect entered the bank alone and sat near counter number 4. About 15 minutes later, he took out a roughly 7-inch-long butcher knife from a paper bag, grabbed the female staff member from behind, and held the knife to her neck.
He then took the victim to counter one and successfully took HK$120,000 worth of cash in Renminbi, US dollars and Hong Kong dollars, before taking the victim to counter two and got hold of another HK$250,000 in Hong Kong dollars.
The suspect then placed the HK$370,000 in cash and the beef knife into the white paper bag and fled the scene. Bystanders immediately called the police.
