Japan's retail chain 3COINS, renowned for offering practical items with unique designs at a price of 300 yen (around HK$16), is set to launch its inaugural store in Hong Kong at Causeway Bay.
Pictures circulating online indicate that the store is currently under construction at Hysan Place, with signage announcing an opening in July.
The store has also posted job listings for sales associates on recruitment platforms, specifically identifying the establishment as “the licensed Hong Kong store of Japanese brand 3COINS.”
Meanwhile, netizens have expressed concern that prices may be significantly higher than those at local stores in Japan, potentially diminishing its appeal to Hong Kong consumers.
However, some consumers who are unable to travel to Japan frequently still find the new store attractive and convenient, despite the possibility of higher prices.
Founded in 1994, 3COINS provides a diverse range of budget-friendly products, including homeware, clothing, and digital accessories.
Its aesthetic designs and superior quality enable its items to be suitable for both personal use and gifting, distinguishing it from traditional 100-yen stores such as Daiso.
