Consumer Council in process of hiring new chief executive

The Consumer Council is in the process of recruiting a new chief executive, acting chief executive Francis Ho Ying-foo said Thursday as the consumer watchdog released the latest issue of its CHOICE magazine. 

This was Ho's first time leading the CHOICE press conference, a task he called a "new challenge," though he expressed confidence in handling media inquiries with his team’s support.

When asked about candidates for the next chief, he declined to disclose details as the recruitment process is ongoing, but promised updates in due course.

Ho stressed that the hiring process has faced no major hurdles but involves necessary procedural steps that take time to complete.

The council's former chief executive, Gilly Wong Fung-han, stepped down after her term ended on May 6.
