The operation, which took place on January 28, targeted counterfeiting activities and involved inspections of three separate shipments temporarily stored in two logistics warehouses in Yuen Long.
During these inspections, customs officers discovered around 11,000 items suspected to be counterfeit, including an array of Gucci scarves and clothing, with an estimated market value of about HK$5.8 million.
The investigation into this matter is currently ongoing, and the possibility of making arrests remains open.
A customs spokesman stated that they are committed to intensifying inspections and continuing their intelligence-led enforcement strategies to combat the trafficking of counterfeit and infringing goods at all levels.
Under the Trade Descriptions Ordinance, importing or exporting goods bearing a forged trademark is a criminal offense, carrying a maximum penalty of a HK$500,000 fine and up to five years of imprisonment.
