A search-and-rescue operation was launched after a woman fell while hiking at Ma On Shan on Sunday afternoon. She was located three hours after the search began.

At approximately 1.18 pm today, police and firefighters were alerted to an incident involving a woman who reportedly fell down the mountain while hiking along Ma On Shan Tsuen Road.
Rescue teams quickly reached the Ma On Shan Country Park and the Shui Long Wo Helipad, embarking on a climb to locate and rescue the woman. The Government Flying Service also deployed helicopters to aid in the search.
According to reports, the woman was part of a hiking group of eight individuals. The accident occurred while hiking between Ma On Shan and Ngau Ngak Shan. She suddenly slipped, let go of her rope, and fell down the mountain, disappearing from sight.
By 4.43 pm, the rescue workers located the victim 40 meters below the road level and unconscious. They are currently trying to rescue her.
