Hong Kong Airlines plans to resume long-haul international flights in January 2025, with plans to expand its fleet and enhance staffing levels.
The airline said the flight frequency has fully returned to pre-pandemic levels, with an average passenger load of 85 percent. It is expected to carry five million passengers this year and is projected to expand its fleet to 30 aircraft by the end of the year.
Starting next year, It will resume its direct service to the Gold Coast in Australia and Vancouver in Canada.
Hong Kong Airlines has 1,200 crew members at present, and plans to hire 60 percent more pilots and increase cabin crew by 1.6 times.
It is reported that the booking rate for the Christmas and New Year period has reached 85 percent.
With the opening of the third runway at Hong Kong International Airport, the airline is optimistic about the prospects of the long-haul market and is confident in the operational capacity of the new runway.
