Photos and videos of a sea of red liquid covering the floor of Landmark in Central have gone viral, with netizens speculating about the cause.
A large pool of unidentified red liquid was spotted outside a luxury brand store, and around ten workers were seen cleaning the area. Some stains remained after the cleaning.
Internet users mocked that someone may have spilled red wine in the mall. Some speculated the red liquid could be leaking from a burst chiller pipe in the central air conditioning system
In response, Landmark explained that the incident was actually caused by a burst pipe and the red color came from the water tracing dye.
A cleaner said the incident occurred around 4.15 pm last Saturday (July 20), taking nearly two hours for clean-up.
