Travelers were able to get the latest flight information through whiteboards and staff members, and the service at the airport was not primarily affected.
The comments come after a fault in the flight information display system, causing the Hong Kong International Airport terminal's screens and website to be unable to provide real-time updates on flight status.
Some tourists said they were directed to baggage claim by staff and did not experience any inconvenience.
A passenger said she could browse the latest flight status through other online travel platforms and was not affected by the glitches.
However, a passenger from Macau departing for Thailand complained that the system failed to show the correct gate, resulting in him missing the flight. He reported the issue to the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) and asked for compensation.
Another passenger named Leung said there were insufficient notifications and announcements after the incident and urged authorities to improve.
Steven Yiu Siu-chung, the Executive Director for Airport Operations of AAHK, said that the airport's overall operations are running normally, with no delays in departure and arrival flights.
Yiu added that 160 flights were handled without delay as of 11 am.
Secretary for Transport and Logistics Lam Sai-hung urged AAHK to investigate and report the case to the government.
