At least three flooding cases were reported on Lantau Island as a torrential downpour has been affecting Hong Kong. The southern parts of Lantau experienced an unprecedented amount of rainfall - with measurements surpassing 170 millimeters.

As of 2 pm, the Drainage Services Department confirmed three flooding cases across the island at Cheung Tung Road, South Lantau Road and Tong Fuk. Workers were dispatched to clear all three spots within two hours.
More than 30 teams were also dispatched to inspect 220 flooding black spots and clear clogged drains in the city since last night, according to the department.
