A skewer restaurant in Sham Shui Po saw its license canceled by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department on Friday after it was caught repeatedly extending the business area illegally.
The restaurant is Dai To Skewer located at Shop C2, G/F, 353-357 Un Chau Street.
“Four convictions for the above-mentioned breach were recorded against the shop licensee between November last year and January this year,” a spokesman for the department said.
“A total fine of HK$8,600 was levied by the court and 90 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department’s demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the cancellation of the license.”
The licensee also had a record of two convictions for the same offense in August and October last year.
A total of HK$4,800 was fined and 30 demerit points were registered, resulting in a seven-day license suspension this February.
The department reminded the licensees of restaurants to comply with the Food Business Regulation and other relevant regulations, or their licenses could be suspended or canceled.
