KTSP Limited announced Monday that 85 percent of the construction work has been finished, and the park is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
Inspired by the design theme of "Pearl of the Orient," the exterior panels of the Main Stadium use a three-layer spray technique to allow the color of the surface to change from blue to purple depending on the lighting and viewing angle.
Furthermore, more than 7,000 LED lights adorn the exterior walls, aiming to create various visual effects and enhance the overall viewing experience.
The panels also featured self-cleaning functionality to reduce the impact of dust and rainwater on the exterior walls.
The installation works took approximately eight months to complete and involved up to 100 workers at its peak.
The Kai Tak Sports Park will occupy 28 hectares of land, providing modern and multipurpose facilities for sports and recreation to enhance the sports culture in Hong Kong.
