The government announced back on January 9 that the Home Affairs Department, together with the 18 district offices and district councils, will organize a series of activities rich in regional characteristics and traditional culture starting this month, allowing citizens and tourists to eat, play, and shop together.
Currently, there are tentatively 25 activities scheduled until the end of May.
The three activities to headline the event in January include the C&W District Sparkles: Vivid and Vibrant Vibes Through the Day and Night Bazaar in Central and Western District, Kwun Tong Night Market in the Year of Dragon, and Yau Ma Tei Festival 2024.
As the Lunar New Year approaches, a special market will be held in the Central and Western Districts, with dozens of stalls selling a variety of goods, some of which will be sold at discounted prices.
Kwun Tong will also hold a night market during the Lunar New Year, allowing people to enjoy the festive atmosphere. Through diversified market stalls, comprehensive performances, and games, it can boost local consumption and create a joyful nightlife in Hong Kong.
The activities in Yau Tsim Mong District will be coordinated with the Temple Street Night Market, aiming to let the public and foreign tourists understand the characteristics, culture, history, and development of the daytime Yau Ma Tei.
