Precious Blood Primary School (Wah Fu Estate) to cease operation by 2030

Precious Blood Primary School (Wah Fu Estate) announced it will close after the 2028/29 academic year, while the school will stop admitting primary one students starting in 2025.

The school notice posted Saturday (Sept 16) stated that the city's school-age children population has been declining since 2019. With the redevelopment and relocation of the Wah Fu Estate, the enrolment situation of the school has been severely affected, resulting in the decision to cease its operation gradually.

It added that due to a lack of resources, it would be hard for the school to continue to provide children with a good learning environment and whole-person education.

Starting in the 2025/26 academic year, Precious Blood Primary School will stop admitting new primary one students, and after the 2028/29 school year, it will be closing down.

The school stressed that current students (including primary one students enrolled in the 2023/24 academic year) will not be affected by the closure and will be able to finish the entire primary school years.

It stated that the school will continue to review the development of the situation from time to time and maintain communication with all stakeholders, along with accord the top priority of students' interests.

According to the Primary School Profiles 2023, 11 classes of Precious Blood Primary School were approved by the Education Bureau, with primary one and two having one class each.
