Cleaning workers have stepped up to remove garbage in Shek O after the public transport services resumed.
The heavy rain has left no one to clean up the trash at the garbage collection depots and the beach for two days, with the workers saying it took an hour and a half to handle the rubbish from half the beach.
A cleaner said tons of plastic bottles, broken branches, and other rubbish were washed up on the beach.
Only a few stores and restaurants at the Shek O Beach were open for business on Sunday.
A restaurant manager said they had prepared some dried food and hoped to help the needy villagers. She added that business was down by at least half.
The Southern District Care Team also helped dispatch the supplies provided by the government, including food, medicines, and SIM cards, to villagers.
