Police were alerted to a public housing estate in Tsz Wan Shan on Wednesday after an 85-year-old woman was found lying unconscious outside her home with cut wounds on her neck and head, while a man allegedly committed suicide in another flat.

The elderly woman, surnamed Tam, was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
Police received a report at around 4 pm that Tam was lying unconscious on the 15th floor of Ching Yuk House at Tsz Ching Estate. Upon arrival, officers found a 66-year-old man, surnamed Chow, took his own life in a unit on the 14th floor.
It was learned that Chow and Tam bore a grudge against each other over noise issues, and Chow just argued with Tam at around 1pm today.
Officers seized an axe on the 15 floor, according to sources. The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
