Mark Six lottery draw will be held twice a week on every Tuesday and Friday starting March 8, The Hong Kong Jockey Club announced on Wednesday.
The increase of Mark Six draw from the current once a week under the Covid-19 pandemic to twice a week will increase the income of the Lotteries Fund.
It will “provide assistance to the needed in the community particularly at a time when Hong Kong people are facing an unprecedented pandemic challenge”, according to the club.
Customers can purchase Mark Six tickets via 1886 Telebet Automated Services, Online Betting Service (eWin) and the Classic 3-in-1 mobile app.
Since the fifth wave of Covid-19 broke out, all off-course betting branches have been closed from January 26 until further notice.
The Club announced last month the injection of HK$100 million to its Covid-19 Emergency Fund. Established in February 2020, the fund provides fast-track grants to Non-governmental organizations offering essential services to people hard-hit by the pandemic.
To date, more than 200 organizations have received grants to implement over 240 projects and have helped over one million people from various sectors.
