Cantopop king cheers up and dances

Superstar Aaron Kwok Fu-shing will be performing with 80 dancers in an online charity concert on Saturday.

Kwok said he was inspired by Sam Hui Koon-kit, who organized an online concert last month that attracted 2.5 million viewers.

Many workers in the entertainment and performance industry have lost their jobs amid the pandemic, said Kwok, who called on the public to donate to his charity Aaron Kwok Love and Concern International Charity Fund. All the proceeds will go to professional dancers and front line workers in the film industry.

The Cheer up & Dance online charity concert 2020 is also a tribute to mothers ahead of Mother's Day, said Kwok, who chocked back tears while thinking about his recently passed mother.

The concert will be livestreamed from 5pm to 6pm Saturday on Kwok's Facebook page and Lawrence Cheng Tan-shui's Youtube channel.
