Former TVB artiste and member of the Hong Kong Olympian windsurfing team Ken Wong Hap-hei was on Wednesday fined HK$4,000 after police caught him in possession of cannabis and a pipe in Stanley.
Wong, 54, now a windsurfing coach, pleaded guilty to possessing a dangerous drug and apparatus fit and intended for the inhalation of a dangerous drug.
Police were patrolling outside Lung Tan House at Lung Yan Court in Stanley at around 11pm on September 8 when they spotted Wong acting weirdly in the area. Officers then stopped and searched him and found some cannabis and a pipe in his bag.
Under police caution, Wong admitted that the cannabis and the pipe were for his own use.
Wong has two children aged 24 and 25. Appearing in the Eastern Magistrates' Courts on Wednesday, he pleaded guilty to the two charges.
Magistrate Jason Wan Siu-ming then told Wong to reflect on himself and asked rhetorically, "What if your children smoke cannabis?"
Wan warned that if Wong was caught committing the crime again, he might be remanded and sent to an addiction treatment center.
