Jimmy Sham Tsz-kit’s application for bail has been denied by the court today, whose case is handled by judge Esther Toh Lye-ping, a national security law designated judge.
Sham applied for bail today afternoon but designated judge Toh denied his application, with reasons to be announced later.
Sham, alongside other 46 activists, was arrested in February and accused of subverting the state in March over the 35-plus primary election.
Among the arrested activists, 11 were granted bail earlier, including Cheng Tat-hung, Clarisse Yeung Suet-ying, Mike Lam King-nam, Helena Wong Pik-wan and others.
