Police would not rule out he committed suicide.
Hikers at the Suicuide Cliff found an abandoned backpack at around 12.30pm and reported to the police, worrying that others might have fallen.
Fire Service Department and Government Flying Service arrived at the scene and performed searches. The man was found heavily wounded and was in a coma, under the cliff. He was then declared dead after examination. They also found his ID card in the backpack.
Yesterday a hiker died of an accident that happened at the same cliff. He was found unconscious with injuries on his body’s right side.
The 58-year-old man had gone missing for more than a day since leaving his home. He was then flown to hospital and was declared dead.
