Another elderly home resident dies of Covid-19

A 78-year-old man has died of coronavirus today, bringing the city’s death toll to 68. 

A spokesperson of Queen Mary Hospital said the man lived in Tuen Mun’s Cornwall Elderly Home (Golden Branch). He was the 11th deceased patient linked to the cluster. 

He was sent to Queen Mary Hospital on July 28 after confirmed with the virus, but his situation worsened and succumbed to the disease at 3.16 pm today. 

Some 40 people linked to the Cornwall Elderly’s Home, Tuen Mun cluster were infected in the latest wave of the pandemic.

The official tally stood at 4,407 as health officials recorded 46 more infections today.
