3HK rings in crypto payments option

3 Hong Kong, the mobile arm of Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong (0215), said it will collaborate with FTX US, a digital assets exchange, to enable the use of selected cryptocurrencies for paying phone bills, products and services online.

The option is expected to be extended to offline shops in April.

Telecom operators have started new measures under the pandemic. For example, HKBN now offers an exclusive 1000M fiber broadband offer for HK$89 per month to selected existing home broadband customers, to meet demand for huge bandwidth and high network stability so the whole family can access the internet simultaneously.

Meanwhile, CSL Mobile, a member of HKT, is supporting frontline health-care workers by helping them keep connected with their families through providing free local mobile data.
