Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang plans to attend the China International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing starting next Wednesday and meet with senior Chinese leaders, the Financial Times reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.
The visit aims to reiterate Nvidia's long-term commitment to the Chinese market, according to the report.
Huang hopes to meet with Premier Li Qiang and also plans talks with Vice Premier He Lifeng, though the meetings are pending final confirmation from Chinese authorities, Financial Times reported, citing sources
The report further states that Nvidia could launch a new AI chip tailored specifically for the Chinese market as early as September. This chip is essentially a modified version of Nvidia's existing Blackwell RTX Pro 6000 processor, redesigned to comply with tightened US export controls implemented under the Trump administration. To meet US requirements, the chip will exclude the most advanced core technologies, including high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and the NVLink interconnect technology used to boost data transfer speeds.
Huang previously visited China in April, meeting Vice Premier He Lifeng. During that meeting, He emphasized China's significant investment and consumption potential and accelerating industrial transformation, welcoming US companies like Nvidia to deepen their presence in the Chinese market.
