AFCD staff inspected Sai Kung East Country Park this morning and found more tents than usual at Ham Tin Wan, Sai Wan and Long Ke Wan, but no serious issues with usage, hygiene or order.
Since the Lunar New Year holiday began on February 14, the department increased patrols, enhanced cleaning and garbage collection, displayed camping etiquette reminders, and had Food and Environmental Hygiene Department toilet attendants stationed at Ham Tin Wan public toilets.
Enforcement action intensified, and as of 11am today, 20 violation cases were recorded along MacLehose Trail Sections 1 and 2 and the three designated campsites, mainly for littering and unauthorized fires.
