(Video) Taxi flipped after being hit by suspected red-light runner in Sham Shui Po

A taxi was flipped onto its side after being hit by a BMW suspected of running a red light at a Sham Shui Po intersection on Wednesday afternoon.

The accident occurred around 4pm at the junction of Cheung Sha Wan Road and Wong Chuk Street. Online footage shows the taxi being struck broadside as the BMW allegedly went through the light.

The taxi's 50-year-old male driver and 39-year-old male passenger were trapped but later rescued conscious and taken to hospital. The 48-year-old BMW driver was unhurt.

Wong Chuk Street between Cheung Sha Wan Road and Fuk Wah Street was temporarily closed during cleanup, causing severe congestion.
