Water supply has been restored to a Sheung Shui estate affected by a pipe burst during the Winter Solstice, with repairs completed in the early hours of Monday.
The Water Supplies Department announced on social media that emergency repairs to the 400-millimeter diameter fresh water pipe near the cycle track on So Kwun Po Road were finished, and supply returned to normal at about 1.30am.
The burst had disrupted water to parts of Tin Ping Estate, On Shing Court and Tin Ping Shopping Centre, affecting around 3,700 households on Sunday. The department deployed water tankers and temporary tanks during the outage.
The department said it maintained close communication with the North District Office, local councillors, support teams, the Housing Department and estate management to assist affected residents and businesses. It apologized for the inconvenience and thanked the public for their understanding.
