Hong Kong's Immigration Department will provide special after-hours services at its Tseung Kwan O headquarters from Monday to Saturday to help residents affected by the Tai Po fire replace personal documents.
The special arrangement from December 1-6 will operate from 6pm to 10pm on weekdays and 1pm to 10pm on Saturday, covering replacement of Hong Kong identity cards, SAR travel documents, birth and marriage certificates, as well as extension of stay applications.
The department will expedite processing to complete document preparation within two days and waive all fees for fire-affected residents. Free shuttle bus services will transport people from the two remaining temporary shelters at Tung Cheung Street Community Hall and Tai Po Community Centre to the Tseung Kwan O office.
Additionally, China Travel Service will open its Tseung Kwan O document service center during the same special hours to process applications for Mainland Travel Permits and other mainland-issued travel documents.
Affected residents can currently visit any Immigration Department office during regular hours without appointments for document replacement services.
