In response to growing demand for personalized items, Octopus Cards Limited has partnered with Fotomax to introduce "MyStyle Octopus Cards," enabling residents to adorn their transit cards with favorite images using advanced printing technology and specialized equipment.
According to a reporter from Sing Tao Daily, sister publication of The Standard, the entire customization process—from photo upload to finished card—takes approximately 11 minutes. The standard adult "MyStyle Octopus Card" is priced at HK$128 and comes without a deposit or initial stored value.
Customers can personalize their cards through both online and in-person channels. For online orders, users can visit the Octopus website, access the dedicated "MyStyle" section, and redirect to Fotomax's platform to upload their chosen image.
The customized card will typically be ready within three working days, with options for home delivery or pickup at any of Fotomax's 54 branches across Hong Kong.
For those preferring physical stores, the newly opened "FUJIFILM House of Photography" at The Mills offers a comprehensive experience including photo shooting, editing, and instant printing services.
The company emphasized that the service is strictly limited to personal photographs. Images featuring public figures, celebrities, or any content deemed threatening, obscene, pornographic, or infringing on third-party rights are expressly prohibited.
The personalized Octopus cards are intended solely for personal use and may not be resold or used for commercial purposes.
An Octopus representative indicated that the company plans to promote the service to mainland tourists, who could customize cards with travel photographs as souvenirs or gifts.
The spokesperson noted that tourists could place orders and collect their cards during future visits, with online orders remaining available for store pickup within three months.
