Fatal accident in Shau Kei Wan as truck collides with cyclist

A tragic traffic accident occurred in Shau Kei Wan on Friday afternoon, claiming the life of a male cyclist.

At approximately 4pm, a collision between a dump truck and a bicycle occurred at the intersection of Oi Yin Street and Oi Lai Street, resulting in the cyclist being run over. 

Despite the immediate response from police and emergency services, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Online images show the bicycle's frame severely mangled from the impact, with authorities covering the area with a white sheet.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by police.
