Hong Kong students have achieved outstanding results in this year's International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations, with at least 29 candidates attaining the maximum 45 points - a remarkable academic feat that crowns them as this year's IB "top scorers."

The English Schools Foundation (ESF) network leads the tally with 15 perfect scorers, while other local institutions also celebrated exceptional performances.
Victoria Shanghai Academy produced five top scorers, Canadian International School of Hong Kong had two, and Diocesan Boys' School saw three of its students achieve full marks.
Po Leung Kuk Choi Kai Yau School and Po Leung Kuk Ngan Po Ling College (marking its first-ever perfect scorers) contributed one and two top performers, respectively.
Beyond the perfect scorers, numerous students attained near-perfect 44 points across prestigious schools. ESF schools collectively had 27 such high achievers, St. Paul's Co-educational College (SPCC) recorded eight, while St. Stephen's College in Stanley and Victoria Shanghai Academy each celebrated seven students with 44 points.

Among the standout performers is SPCC's top scorer Kristen Lo Man-yi, who expressed surprise at her perfect result.
The aspiring medical student has already received offers from both the University of Hong Kong and Chinese University of Hong Kong but remains undecided between local study or pursuing education in the UK.

"My interest in medicine grew after volunteering with terminal patients in Secondary Four," Lo shared, adding that she witnessed how doctors provided crucial emotional support for patients.
She said her experience revealed medicine's "less visible but profoundly meaningful dimensions" that solidified her career choice, though she plans to explore different specializations during medical school.
The SPCC cohort demonstrates a strong leaning toward healthcare, with six of their nine highest achievers planning medical careers.
Other students aim to study law, business, and physics, with some considering US institutions despite recent policy uncertainties affecting international students.
