Towngas Smart Energy (1083) said its Energy as a Service or EaaS business model can help businesses save 2 million yuan (HK$2.2 million) in electricity costs per year, reporting significant progress in promoting renewable energy and smart energy systems.
The EaaS solution provides corporate clients with one-stop "photovoltaic, energy storage and electricity sales" services, the company said.
Towngas Smart Energy has finished a tailored energy solution at the Skywell Automobile production plant in Shenzhen's Pingshan District. This includes solar panels on the rooftop area of 75,000 square meters to provide green electricity for the plant, an energy storage system to store excess solar power during peak demand periods and a virtual power plant that collects and analyzes electricity usage data to forecast power needs.
With the EaaS solution, the project can produce over 8.8 million kilowatt-hours of green electricity annually, which cuts 4,590 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions while saving 2 million yuan in electricity costs per year.
Besides, Towngas Smart Energy has built a partnership with Jining Energy Development Group Company, the largest energy enterprise in the city's southwestern Shandong province.
This collaboration involves investing in 30 megawatts of distributed photovoltaic power and trading carbon allowances in the mainland market, supporting the low-carbon transition of mainland cities.
