Residents moving into their new homes at the Pavilia Farm's first phase will be able to enjoy a bit of pastoral living at the development's new clubhouse which has now been completed.
Called Farm Pavilion, the clubhouse serves all eight blocks in New World Development's (0017) Pavilia Farm above the Tai Wai MTR Station, which will provide 3,043 flats upon completion in three phases.
Together with the surrounding landscape area, the clubhouse covers an area of 280,000 sq ft and features a stepped aquaponics farming terrace.
The aquaponics farm measures 1,900 sq ft and is connected to a 6,500-sq-ft triple-tier experimental urban farm, enabling families to learn more about nature.
Two carp ponds are located in the higher tier and a rice paddy field in the lower one. Waterfalls link two carp ponds, whose organic fertilizer feeds the paddy field in the lower tier. The water that flows through the paddy field is circulated back to the ponds in the higher tier, resulting in a self-sustaining, micro-aquaponics system.
An outdoor play area for children is built beside the waterfalls with a series of facilities including a giant two-meter slide.
Above the terrace is the Farm House with a 30-meter-long table sitting on a track upcycled from Tai Wai Station. Residents can dine in the semi-open space that's been designed under the five-step "farm-to-table" concept of planting, preparation, cooking, serving and mindful dining.
To the right of the terrace lies the Tea House for a spot of tea, tranquility and zen.
Connected by a waterfall, an outdoor swimming pool lies under the tea house and next to a 50-meter indoor pool.
The open space of the clubhouse has several barbecue pavilions with long extendable tables. Each pavilion can accommodate between four to 10 people.
The pavilions are built with natural wood and has sloping roofs, inspired by the concept of a tree house in the woods.
The clubhouse has solar panels and wind turbines to help reduce energy consumption, along with high-thermal-performance glass curtain walls, energy-efficient appliances, an energy-regeneration elevator system and vertical greening.
The clubhouse also has a fitness room, Pilates studio, tennis, badminton and ball courts, spa, novice pool, sauna and steam bath.
Meanwhile, homes at the Pavilia Farm also feature smart devices such as retractable steps next to the vanity counter in the bathrooms which allow children to wash their hands easily and a three-in-one laundry that includes a washing machine, retractable clothes rack and ironing board.
