HSI expands to 95 as it adds Hua Hong and Weichai Power, CoreX Semiconductor joins Tech Index

Hang Seng Indexes Company announced on Friday the results of its quarterly index review, adding Hua Hong Grace Semiconductor (1347) and Weichai Power (2338) to the Hang Seng Index, bringing the number of constituents from 93 to 95.

The company said no stocks are being removed.

Meanwhile, no changes were applied in the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index.

Hang Seng Tech Index will add Shanghai Iluvatar CoreX Semiconductor (9903) to replace Tongcheng Travel (0780). The number of constituents remains at 30.

All changes will take effect on September 7.

In addition, the Hang Seng Biotech Index will add Hangzhou Diagens Biotechnology (2526) and remove HUTCHMED (0013). These changes will take effect on September 14.

Assuming the Hang Seng Index was adjusted on August 21, the weights of the new constituents Hua Hong Grace Semiconductor and Weichai Power would be 0.54 percent and 0.37 percent, respectively.

Assuming the Hang Seng Tech Index was adjusted on August 21, the weight of CoreX Semiconductor would be 0.16 percent.

For the Hang Seng Composite Index, 61 stocks will be added, 15 stocks will be removed, and the number of constituents will increase from 536 to 580.
