Hong Kong stocks flat by midday

Hong Kong shares pared most of their gains in the morning trading session by noon on Wednesday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index inched up 9 points, or 0.04 percent, to 25,072.

The Hang Seng Tech Index fell by 0.48 percent to 4,807.

In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index rose 0.88 percent to 3,915 points, while the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index went up 1.37 percent to 13,721 points.
