Wall Street’s main indexes opened higher on Monday as risk appetite returned to markets after US President Donald Trump said he would order the military to postpone strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 226.3 points, or 0.50 percent, at the open to 45,803.82. The S&P 500 rose 68.5 points, or 1.05 percent, at the open to 6,574.96, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 348.2 points, or 1.61 percent, to 21,995.78 at the opening bell.
