Hong Kong stocks rise as tech shares gain

The benchmark Hang Seng Index opened 136 points higher at 25,634. The city's tech index climbed 0.81 percent to 5,461.

Major tech names were mostly higher, with NetEase (9999) rising 1.41 percent and Kuaishou Technology (1024) gaining 1.3 percent. Tencent (0700) advanced 0.82 percent, while Meituan (3690) added 0.78 percent. Alibaba (9988) rose 0.62 percent, and Alibaba Health (0241) outperformed, jumping 2.64 percent.
